I had the Direct to Implants at the time of my mastectomies, I am 8 weeks in and so far, am doing well. I did not want another surgery. One and done. In at 6am and home by 5pm. I am glad I did it this way . It worked best for me, as the surgeon is 90 miles away. Good luck to you!

Hello, Elizabeth. This is a great question. Having recently been diagnosed, I’ll be seeing a plastic surgeon next week to discuss reconstruction. My surgical oncologist indicated that reconstruction may take place at the same time as the mastectomy; yet, I, too, am not sure what this will entail. I look forward to hearing others experiences as I prepare for the upcoming surgery. I’m so sorry you had a bad experience with that doctor, just horrible. I’m positive with this new doctor you’ll have a beautiful outcome and will be happy. Hugs
