I had the tingling and my feet lost almost all of the feeling in them. Be very careful walking if this happens. I only wore tennis shoes. Feeling is almost completely back. I finished chemo Feb.2011. Hope this helps you

This started in my feet about 2 years after my chemo treatments. I have been treated with Lyrica in the past and it did work for awhile however it caused me to gain alot of weight. Finally my doctor took me off of it and started me on a drug called Metanx and it too has worked for years. About a year ago the symptoms were coming back so my doctor added Amitriptylene to my plan. Now the symptoms are back and now moved to my hands as well. Saw a new doctor last week who insist that Lyrica is the best drug and represcribed it and is taking me off the Amitriptylene. I am very nervous about the Lyrica because I am still trying to get the weight off from before. I am not too sure about taking this or sticking with this doctor.... I am just so tired of hurting!!!! I am training to walk in the Susan G Komen 3 Day in November and this is really making it difficult!

Talk to your dr. about Cymbalta. I know it's considered an anti-depressant but so is Amitriptylene. It worked wonders for me. I was on Lyrica as well, it did work but like you I gained alot of weight. When Cymbalta was approved by the FDA he put me on it and I loved it. I am offit now for insurance reasons. The neuropathy is now worse for me. My feet feel like I'm walking on balled up socks and I can not hold anything in my hands without it dropping. I have broken alot of dishes. But talk to your dr. about Cymbalta. It really does work. I hope you find something soon because I know how painful it is. Good luck!!

I developed peripheral neuropathy after my first cycle and had a dose reduction. I have tried pregabalin and then gabapentin but found my body developed tolerance very quickly so the doses were increased causing more GI side effects and drowsiness. I squeeze a soft foam ball to encourage blood flow to my hands and roll my feet on a massage ball. It seems to be helping but it's very slow. Nerves only regrow 1mm a month but they can repair themselves for many years after chemo. So don't lose hope!
