Has Anyone Had Breathing Problems Since They Started Tamoxifen??
I had to see a lung doctor today...and he said that tamoxifen causes breathing problems..he also said that radiation can cause scaring in my lungs...so he ordered a chest xray to make sure somethings not being missed
I notice cold air bothers me and I'm not sure about my cardio. I feel better after doing cardio but don't sleep as well (typically) that night. And, then, feel a bit wore out the next day. I usually exercise 5 days a week. My right lung feels different as if it is not inflating properly and I will have nagging lung pain from time to time. You are not alone angel_d-71. Do what you can and listen to your body. I did find "ClearLungs" Extra Strength on Amazon does help.
BettyMerritt my chest xray was normal. The doc changed my inhaler from qvar to symbcort..that seems to be helping some. hope all turns out well for you
Angel_d_7, what did the chest xray say? My chest xray is normal and so are my breathing tests. I know that I've got lung damage. The only way to "prove" it is to get a CT scan. And, even then it may not show up.
I find exercise is harder. But I do yoga & stretch my rib cage out & that helps. I have asthma & it's worse on rainy days, and it was bad bad bad on chemo, but I have realized Tamoxifen has something to do with it. My energy is so low as well that breathing can be an issue. And anxiety adds to it. I listen to anxiety prevention music. It helps me breathe deeper & stay calm. :)
I have same issue...often times from bouts of quick activities ie...climbing stairs, fast paced walks...cardio at the gym. My dr also said tamoxifen...didn't get a whole lot more than that but have heard many other women complain of similar things! I just keep trying to work out at the gym and hopefully build my stamina again
