I'm Wondering If Everyone Has Had Their Vitamin D Levels Checked!
My oncologist checked mine and I was found deficient...no surprise. I am now supplementing with vitamin D3 , 4000 ius. My oncologist and radiation oncologist are both also nutritionists. I was wondering if all oncologists check their patients
Nobody ever checked my levels not before during or after treatment 4 years ago so imagine my surprise when a year ago (two years after finishing BC treatment) my oncologist tested me since I was complaining of fatigue and was found depleted!!? He mega dosed me 50,000 units once a week for 8 weeks and now 1500 units daily. I have no idea how long I had been so low. And yes, there seems to be a link to BC.
I just went to the doctors and ask if she could check my d Levels and I have not got back the results yet! I know this is very important to know but they don't seem to care or even do it unless you request it, and if they have looked at it they have not shared in the past with me! I have done a lot of reading on this and how important it is to have good levels to help with the fight and cure of cancer! I even started doing the apricot seeds. I read a lot of research of it! I hope to post something soon on my FB page "EATING TO LIVE" https://www.facebook.com/tbeattolive
Yes, I had mine checked and it was low. I'm taking a supplement for that plus have it checked every time I'm in the Onc's office. Also I just read that having B12 shots helps. I'm going to ask the Onc abou that.
My Oncologist stated to me that Chemo will reduce the Vitamin D level and that a supplement should be taken every day (for the rest of your life. Since I started Chemo in 2007 I am taking Vitamin D (B3) 2000 a day. For a while I stopped and I did feel the difference..I would be very tired and very achy..
I do too, but way before cancer diagnosed
