I was supposed to be on Zometa monthly for 6 mos, but my dr stopped it after 2 treatments. She said a recent study showed it wouldn't be beneficial for the amount of bone loss, and type of cancer I had. She will reevaluate in February. It's one of those things that some women need and some don't, depending on diagnosis and bone loss, and I'm sure other factors. I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have had two zometa treatments, and am supposed to continue every six months. It is supposed to reduce my chances of reoccurrence and bone loss. I am at a risk for this since I chose to have my ovaries removed.

@A MyBCTeam Member my dr took me off Zometa after two treatments. She said a new study showed that my bone loss wasn't bad enough for it to really do anything. However, if you have osteoporosis, Zometa is supposed to help.
