Radiation Burning
Has anyone ever experienced under arm & breast discomfort( burning feeling) after 2 months from radiation? ( I had 35 treatments)
@A MyBCTeam Member I used neosporin and silver sulfadiazine cream which is a prescription cream my ro gave me. I'm almost 2 weeks out from finishing radiation and my skin is almost cleared up but my breast is still sore and I can't wear a bra.
I finished radiation one week ago. Yes I got the radiation burn under the Breast and on top near the armpit. The burned areas have started peeling and this pain is worse. It leaves a raw place. I was using Domboro for soothing, but have gone back to the Aquaphor with 2 percent Lidocaine. It does help with the pain. My concern is infection. Breast is still very sore.
I finished radiation last week after 35 treatments. After 25 treatments I was burned and peeling under my arm but it cleared up pretty good after a week. The burn under my breast after the next 10 is worse, I can't wear a bra and it's sore, but my doctor prescribed silver sulfadiazine cream and it's helping. Keep your skin hydrated.
I am 7 months out from radiation and still get periodic episodes of burning pain deep in my breast. I was warned by my RO that this was a possibility and told to use ibuprofen if it occurred.
I have bad burns and am using silver sulfadiazine cream now - with vaseline gauze on top of it and then regular gauze and a soft after surgery bra that they gave me. Owie! But only 3 more boost treatments and I'm finished Dec 23rd!
