I've been on Exemestane since October, I stopped it a week ago. How long will the side effects linger?

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis shortly after my exchange surgery last year. I had a brain MRI because I was getting dizzy. My ms has been getting worse, I had to leave my teaching job last month. I got to a point where I couldn't walk. I started reading about MS and some women are treated with estrogen to help ease their symptoms. I emailed my onc and told him I'm stopping Exemestane to see if I improve. He's not happy and will call my neurologist to discuss this, but I already feel so much better! I'm sleeping through the night and my muscles don't hurt anymore. I might go back to tamoxifen as its being use in some MS trials to improve treatment. Haven't decided yet as I HATED tamoxifen. I have 20-30% chance of recurrence. AI s will cut that in half, but I also want to be able to walk and enjoy my life. It's scary, but i don't feel like I can live with such severe side effects.

Evista side effects lasted a little over a week. A few days with Arimidex. I just couldn't tolerate the pain
and physical limitations.

My sister has MS. If there is anyway possible you can talk with a doctor at the Shepherd's MS Institute in Atlanta, GA might be beneficial to you. He recommended a treatment called Plasmapheresis. Since she had this treatment, she has not had any recurring episodes. It's been over a year and she has a treatment every 6 months. Do some research on this treatment. I will keep you in my prayers.
