What Do You Do With Unused, Sealed Medication?

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭
Pittsburgh, PA

I have 3 packets of 150 mg Verzenio and 2 packets of 300 mg of Piqray that I no longer take. They were both effective for a while, but no longer used. They are quite expensive and I didn't want to throw them away.

Our area will occasionally have a time where they will collect medicines.

Also check with the pharmacist at your oncology center, they are often overlooked resources. I used to work as the Senior Purchasing Agent for a hospital, and when chatting with the pharmacist, found out that the nearby equine hospital could use our recently expired IV bags. Who would have guessed?

Ask your oncologist, some hospitals will take them and give them to someone who cannot afford.
