What Is Adenocarcinoma? Why Did My Radiologist Write This In My Notes And Not Say Anything To Anyone?
Have learned to ALWAYS get and read the reports, labs and Dr's notes. So many times, they put things in their notes that they never discuss with you, or don't bother to document what you share with them. You must be your own self -advocate. I know that many don't want to do the research or know all the details - that is, of course, your decision/right to proceed how works best for you. I want to know / try to understand everything.
I read what I can and make a list of questions. I still manage to leave without everything answered/explained but I get taken more seriously because I am prepared. Will always struggle with the time restraints of our allotted 15 minute appts. So many questions / so little time. Pick your battles.
Does your Dr have a portal system that you can send your question to him/her in writing? I would probably start there. (After I asked for input here and did some Internet research.)
Good Luck!
Teresa4,
I have never seen a "questions" button...but most portals have a way to send a message. Put your questions in bullet form (and don't make your email too long - or they will miss things). That puts it all in writing - which means it gets taken more seriously.
Keeping you in prayers for all good news with the punch biopsy. Hugs!
Hello, Yes there is an app for each doctor etc. I did not look for a question button. I will look. I went to my appt today. I scheduled the punch biopsy. My breast surgeon wasn't going to do it, but I insisted. She did. For my mental state, I need to rule out this Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I have all the symptoms and it is frightening to look at and think about.
Oh. My pathology report did not say that kind of cancer.
