I had a unilateral mastectomy and then breast reconstruction of that side and a lift and small implant of the other side done. The reconstructed side is much smaller than the other side. I have a few options. Replace the implant with a larger one, which would involve another surgery, remove implant from the other side, again another surgery, or this procedure. Yes, some people have had fat grafting to the breast using fat taken from the abdomen. Here are some key points about the recovery process:

- Supportive Garments: Wearing comfortable sports bras and supportive garments is crucial to help the grafted fat heal properly.
- Sleeping Position: Sleeping on your back in a slightly elevated position can reduce swelling and help the transferred fat survive.
- Avoiding Heat and Cold: Avoid using heating pads or cold compresses without consulting your doctor, as reconstructed breasts may be desensitized to hot and cold, increasing the risk of burns or frostbite.
- Medications: Taking prescribed medications on schedule can help manage pain and discomfort.
- Activity Restrictions: Strenuous exercise should be avoided right after surgery to prevent worsening pain and discomfort.

Yes, I have had 2 fat transfers done. I was awake both times. No big deal. I had 1 transfer done at UBC in Vancouver and another done in a private clinic with 3 plastic surgeons working on me. 1 from Quebec and 2 from Vancouver. I'm sorry, I don't remember how long he told me not to lift things, etc.
