My Hair Has Started Coming Out In Clumps On My Second Week After First Chemo Infusion. Thought It Would Be Gradual. Any Suggestions?
I used a mild body wash…Dove…until hair started growing back then switched to baby shampoo as recommended by oncologist. 🥰

Taxotere/Cytoxan is hard, but doable. I am guessing you need 4? If so, half done after tomorrow!
My last chemo was 1/3/19, surgery 2/5/19, last radiation 4/14/19.
I am in a good place now, but I did struggle after treatment. I thought I would be so happy when this was all over, but I wasn’t. I went from biopsy to chemo chair so quickly, then I was survival mode. I had 5 weeks to recover before surgery. My 4 hour surgery took a lot out of me. Radiation made me tired again. I never really digested a cancer diagnosis, and I think I had a little PTSD. I kept waiting for the old me to come back. Fear of recurrence was consuming! TNBC has a high risk of recurrence, and there are no hormones to block. It took awhile, but I realized I am not the same person I was before cancer, and I started to embrace the new me. I still worry a little about recurrence, but it no longer runs my life.

This scary, we get it!
Please let me know if I can be of any help!
@A MyBCTeam Member & @A MyBCTeam Member - how did you wash your head after all the hair came off? Did you use regular shampoo or use body wash or soap? And how often?
Every one is different on how they handle it. I had gotten a wig ahead of time, and shaved my head once it was coming out in huge clumps. That was 14 days after my first treatment. Some cut is shorter as it is falling out. Some just wait it out.
The good news is it will grow back.
Wishing you well!
