Yes I did. I was asked to be followed by a gynecologist while on tamoxifen due to its endometrial hyperplasia as a side effects. Upon my spotting , I went through a transvaginal ultrasound as well as biopsy to rule out endometrial cancer. Hope this helps

Yes, it's not uncommon for individuals taking tamoxifen to experience changes in their bleeding patterns, such as spotting, even after a period of no bleeding. In the context provided, it's mentioned that spotting or changes in vaginal discharge can be symptoms to watch for, especially in premenopausal women. If you experience such symptoms, it's crucial to consult with your healthcare provider. They may recommend further evaluation by a gynecologist to rule out more serious conditions, such as uterine problems, and possibly suggest a temporary halt in tamoxifen use during the evaluation. Always communicate any changes in your symptoms to your healthcare team.

@A MyBCTeam Member as far as I am aware if the endometrial biopsy is negative like in your case then continued monitoring is indicated. My endometrial thickness was 7 mm. Since the cause was known in our case is tamoxifen, my gynecologist decided to keep on monitoring. I am not sure if D&C will help to further secure the diagnosis or not since we already have the cause ie tamoxifen. D&C may not be necessary. Your medical oncologist's assessment is aligned with the current thought process of a patient who shows up with spotting while on tamoxifen. Hope this helps
