I had a double mastectomy last August. My left breast had to go and I made the choice to do both at the same time. Recovery was about 5 weeks and you get to shower about 48 hours after surgery. There was no restriction about hair washing even though they took the sentinel and second lymph nodes on both sides.

You are in charge when it comes to what you want done! I looked at online pictures and did my research before I made my decision. I didn’t know about this group then or I would have asked too.

Whatever you end up doing I’ll be praying for you to be 100% cancer free at the end of the procedure!
