I'm having a bilateral mastectomy and the flap procedures seem painful and full of risk. Why put myself through that when I can wear prosthetics.

Hi Ame, the photo below is today. I don’t mind being totally flat chested. I wear a bra with inserts when I feel like it. The extra skin under my armpits will be surgically removed in September by my surgeon. This is from the incision scar cutting into that fat pocket we all have.😂
Let me know if I can answer any questions you may have. Here’s a hug. 🤗

I never had to deal with a mastectomy and reconstruction, but I know myself I would just say take them both and stay flat. I would never go through that process. Once surgery is done, I want out of there. Heard too many stories here of infections and other problems.

Hi Ame, I did the single mastectomy, flat closure- it's been 5 years now, and no regrets! I throw the prosthetic in the pocket of the bra and roll on! Hugs!

WOW Lar did you ever heal so nicely. I would have no problem flat. The first 12 yrs or so of my life I was flat, I could do flat the last 12 years. You have made a remarkable recovery, your hair has grown in, your scars and burns have healed. What a trooper you are. ❤️
