What Did You Wear Under Your Wig? Are Those Nylon Wig Caps Good Enough Or What Did You Find Worked Best For You?
I plan on shaving my head next weekend and have been looking on Amazon for what to get so my head doesn’t get itchy/warm when wearing a wig.
Hi, @A MyBCTeam Member! I purchased two wigs from a wig maker in Michigan and have worn them for four months. I still have 75% of my hair because I am using the cold cap. I wear a fishnet-type thing over my head, secured with three barrettes and then a headband goes over that. I don't know if this site will let me paste the links, but I'll try.

If you are shaving your head, I don't think you'll need the clips. You may not need the fishnet thing, either.
If you use it, the stocking goes on first, then the headband.
I hope this helps!

Nothing for me under the wig. It was a lace style wig, so a bit more breathable, and because it allows your scalp to show, you can move your hair around- and it looks more real.
I did not have my head "shaved"- the buzz cut is recommended because shaving could cause nicks and scratches that will be more prone to infection because of the chemo.
The oncologist wrote me a prescription for a "cranial prosthetic" and insurance covered the wig cost. I went to a shop (associated with the hospital oncology center) to make an appt for the buzz and asked what brands they carried. Then I went home, researched it and found four wig styles that I thought might work. I called the shop back and they had all four (not in my color) I could try to see if I liked. The first one was not a lace- and after seeing the difference, it was a definite no. Something about the second one just did not suit me at all, the third and fourth were both nice. I chose the fourth one. and it was easy to order in my color as they could match my hair. Because I did this prior to chemo, and my hair was not processed, it could be cut and donated- which is why I went before chemo. Once you start chemo, donating is not an option. I wore a beanie around the house, and a soft night cap to sleep. Most of my "fuzzies" came out either, after a shower when I was towel drying my head, or at night- so I appreciated the night cap keeping my head warm, and catching all the fuzzies! I decided I would refer to the hair loss as my hair leaving on vacation. Vacations end, and then you gotta come back home!
Good luck! Hugs!
Where is a good place to find stylish head wraps or coverings?
I did a buzz cut and so far it has stayed on my head. I got head wraps on Amazon that are either pre tied or just have elastic in the back. Very comfortable. I wear them everywhere. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8BQ81N2?ref=ppx_yo...
