Anyone Been Diagnosed With An Autoimmune Condition (Hashimito's)? My Doctor Tells Me It's Linked To My Hormone Positive Breast Cancer.
We could all go back and pick a few things we did that might have set this in motion but at the end of the day I can’t undo laying out in the sun for 10 years or working with cleaning chemicals for 35 years . It happened and we can’t do anything about it. While we can be curious we will never really know ❤️
Hypothyroidism. This occurs when your thyroid doesn’t make enough hormones. That slows your metabolism. It can make you gain weight and feel sluggish or depressed. Sometimes that’s caused by a condition called Hashimoto’s disease. This happens when your body’s disease-fighting immune system attacks the thyroid.
I have had Hashimoto's thyroiditis for years. I've been on Levothyroxine for many years. My BC was ER/PR+ and HER2 negative. I've never heard of a link between the two. Interesting but does it make any difference in terms of treatment?
I have Lupus and RA. I’m also her2+, IDC stage 2b. My oncologist told me today before I had chemo that I now have hypothyroidism and 2 nodules on my adrenal glad that showed up on my recent abdominal CT scan. I’m in a state of denial, chemo and Herceptin is all I can handle right now. Maybe tomorrow.
Time to research Hashimoto's and thyroid links to breast cancer ad nauseum lol
