Hi Everyone, I Have A Month Left Of Chemo. I Have Patchy Hair Left, Not Long About 3/4 Inch. Should I Buzz It Off Or Leave It At This Point.

@A MyBCTeam Member Deciding whether to shave your head or stick with your hair is such a personal choice. For me, it was much more freeing to shave it off in the beginning when it started becoming patchy and falling out. I no longer had to worry about it being patchy, clumping on my pillow, falling out in public, etc. For me, being bald has been a relief in that there's one less thing to worry about and deal with. I wish you luck with your decision and I hope that you find peace in your choice. <3

I agree..........when mine started falling out it was terrible! It looked awful so i had my hairdresser just buzz it all off. From then on it was hats, scarves and hairpieces. Get creative! It was kind of fun and anyone that didn't know me, didn't know I was bald!

Hi, Personal choice indeed but if it was my choice, I would cut so that when it begins to grow back it would be all the same length.

Definitely a personal choice!
I did cold cap - was left with 10% of hair. I was devastated because I thought I could keep 50%.
However, I feel like that 10% made a HUGE difference for me.. never got to see myself completely bald and it was long enough to look “normal” when I wore my beanies. I even bought clip on extensions to fool my family and relatives!
I’m 5 months out and my new hair is about 3 inches long. I recently took my beanies off. There were many days when I just wanted to shave everything off but I really didn’t want a short hair. Now, I put a headband to “tame” my new hair and make a small low ponytail with my “old” hair with a black bow. This makes it look like I have a normal hair ~
I’m really happy with the way it worked out and I don’t have to wait a year to look like “myself” again.
Hope you find something that works for you too🙏❤️
